PARIS — TF1, France’s No. 1 private network, Thursday announced the creation of TF1 Digital, a holding company uniting its various theme channels.
The new entity brings together all-news channel LCI, docu channel Odyssee and retail channel Shopping Avenue. It also will oversee the launches of three channels: TFX, targeting young females; Breton-language TV Breizh, which will arrive in September; and a financial channel, provisionally named LCI Finances, which will bow near year’s end.
TF1 veep Etienne Mougeotte has been appointed president, while senior executive Serge Laroye has been named its general manager.
Mougeotte said TF1 Digital would help the group maintain its place in an increasingly fragmented market.
