Stone Stanley, producer of the upcoming reality series “The Mole” for ABC, is modeling “People” after a U.K. format, the rights to which the company secured from Jerry Sadowitz and Michael Hill, who own “The People vs. Jerry Sadowitz.”
U.K. version is produced by London Weekend Television for Channel 5.
Two kinds of ‘People’
Skein is different and separate from the project of the same name in the works at ABC (Daily Variety, June 28).
“All You Need Is Love,” which Stone Stanley is producing for Tribune Entertainment to distribute, is also based on a foreign format acquired by the indie production outfit. “Zobmondo!!,” for Studios USA Domestic Television, is the company’s other syndie pilot in the works.
The premise of “The People Vs.” grants guests the chance to show off their comedic talents under the observation of an established comedian’s watchful eye.
The William Morris Agency brokered Stone Stanley’s deal with Columbia.
‘Man’ bites Turkey
