Star says ‘I Do’ to pic

World Brief

Star TV’s first-ever inhouse Chinese feature is a $1.3 million pic that toplines a bunch of unknowns.

Directed by Cheung Chi-sing (“Love and Sex Among the Ruins”) and billed as a hip romance, “I Do” is already in production and slated for local theatrical release in November.

In June, the Murdoch-owned satellite net earmarked $64 million to boost its Chinese programming. “I Do” is the first of many Star productions that “will add more value” to its 700-title library, said senior exec Steve Askew.
