‘Spartacus’ to air via Pearson in ’01

Series follows adventures of Roman slave and gladiator

The latest hour to enter the action arena has received a thumbs-up from Pearson as the company nabbed rights to gladiator-themed “Spartacus” for a possible launch in fall 2001.

Created by Neil Russell (“Soldier of Fortune”) and Dennis Haskin (“Wanda Nevada”), series is set in the 1st century B.C. and follows the adventures of the famed Roman slave and gladiator.

Pearson has two shows already set for the fall, quizzer “To Tell the Truth” and gaveler “Judgment Day.”
