“Sopranos” scribe Jason Cahill has inked a multiyear overall deal with the network TV division of Paramount Television Group.
Pact to write and produce drama series is worth mid-seven figures.
While serving as exec story editor for “The Sopranos,” Cahill wrote the episode that introduced the character Big Pussy. That script, titled “Meadowlands,” won Cahill a Writers Guild Award.
He also wrote the second-season premiere episode of the HBO series. Cahill’s previous credits include “ER” and “Nothing Sacred.”
Cahill is co-writing, with Nick Pileggi, the feature adaptation of Robert Whiting’s “Tokyo Underworld” for DreamWorks and Martin Scorsese.
Deal was brokered by Cory Concoff of the Bower Co. and attorney Karl Austen.
