Penny Harris has been upped to the new post of controller of acquisitions for Sky One, satcaster BSkyB’s flagship TV channel.

Harris, who had previously been head of acquisitions, will report to Sky One G.M. David Bergg, who is in the process of repositioning the channel within the U.K. market.

Bergg is hoping to broaden Sky One’s audience from its core demographic of 16- to 24-year-olds. Harris said she was looking into acquiring new types of programming. At present, Sky One is heavily reliant on U.S. sitcoms and dramas.
