Regency Television has signed to co-produce with Warner Bros. Television the drama pilot “Day One” for the WB.
“Day One,” which insiders say is one of the most expensive pilots in the WB’s history, is an action-adventure hourlong about passengers on a train who are vaulted into a futuristic landscape.
Brad Johnson (“Always”) stars as James Bishop, a carpenter who leads the charge to rebuild the new world.
Project was originally developed under the auspices of the WB’s inhouse Michigan J. Frog Prods.
Johnson will join Susan Ward (“Sunset Beach”), who’s been cast as Jesse Hunter, the show’s female lead; Corinne Bohrer (“Rude Awakenings”) as veterinarian Dr. Ann Garrett; Paul Wasilewski (“Guiding Light”) as Ann Garrett’s son, Ryan Garrett; singer Carlos Ponce as Richard Drego; and Karl Geary (guest stint on “Sex and the City”) as ex-con Danny McClure.
