MTV in tune with ‘2gether’ skein

Boy band telepic expands to original show

NEW YORK — MTV has greenlit “2gether: The Series,” an original skein based on the music cabler’s first telefilm.

“2gether,” a parody about a fictitious boy band, premiered Feb. 21 to promising ratings — ranking first in the time period among MTV’s target aud of 12- to 34-year-olds in the cable universe.

Brian and Mark Gunn, who wrote the telepic script, will write and produce the series. The film’s leading actors — Evan Farmer, Alex Solowitz, Michael Cuccione, Noah Bastian and Kevin Farley — will reprise their roles for the series, which will pick up where the film left off.
