The Museum of Television & Radio has added four vice chairs to its board, including CBS Corp. prexy and CEO Mel Karmazin.
Other new vice chairs, all upped from MTR trustee, are Gordon Crawford, senior veep of Capital Research and Management Cos.; Leo Hindery, prexy and CEO of Global Center Inc.; and thesp-author-producer Marlo Thomas.
Freshly elected board members include Oxygen Media CEO Geraldine Laybourne, Canal Plus chair Pierre Lescure, Warner Bros. topper Barry Meyer and Rosalind Walter.
Rounding out the group is retired ABC chief Thomas Murphy, who has been named trustee emeritus, a newly created post at the museum, which has Gotham and Los Angeles outposts.
Notable MTR sessions coming this month include a chat with composer Stephen Sondheim March 16 (live in New York and transmitted via satellite for L.A.) and a “Voices of Hanna-Barbera” workshop in L.A. on March 29, headlined by Casey Kasem (the voices of the Scooby-Doo and Shaggy characters, among others).
Seminars on deck for April in L.A. include close-ups of the series “The West Wing” (NBC) and “Felicity” (WB), with cast members and show-runners in attendance. CBS’ “Now and Again” will be under the microscope next month in New York.
