Don Mischer has signed on as exec producer of the 52nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
Mischer, who’s orchestrated the last five Emmycasts, will once again be running the show when ABC airs the kudofest Sunday, Sept. 10. Ceremony will air live to the East Coast from the Shrine Auditorium.
“We are confident that under Don’s guidance, this year’s telecast will raise the bar yet again,” said Meryl Marshall, chariman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Noms for this year’s primetime Emmys will be announced Thursday, July 20.
In addition to five Emmycasts, Mischer has produced the Kennedy Center Honors, the Tony Awards, the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and the 100th anniversary of Carnegie Hall.
Over his career, Mischer, who serves as prexy of Don Mischer Prods. and Don Mischer Technologies, has snagged 13 primetime Emmy awards, nine DGA awards, three NAACP Image awards and a Peabody.
