PARIS — French private network M6 on Thursday posted net profits of 59.7 million euros ($50.5 million) for the first half of the year, up a massive 44.5% over the same period in 1999.
Revenues stood at $319.3 million, a 21% increase on last year’s figure.
Company said it benefited from a 28.3% hike in ad coin linked to an increase in M6’s market share and the numbers reflect an overall rise in TV advertising revenue.
In audience terms, the channel was second among those under age 50, with an 18.1% market share over the first eight months of 2000, according to the company.
In addition to the terrestrial TV service, the M6 group owns a number of theme-based channels and has a stake in satellite platform TPS as well as growing Internet interests.
