NEW YORK — Lifetime Television has greenlit “City Lights,” a primetime drama set at the San Francisco Police Dept.
Bonnie Bedelia and Nancy McKeon will star in the series, which is set for a January 2001 premiere. Written and exec produced by Deborah Joy Levine (“Any Day Now”), “City Lights” is produced by City Lights Prods. and distributed by Viacom Prods. The one-hour series will explore the lives of five female detectives in the SFPD.
Lifetime has also picked up the one-hour drama series “Strong Medicine,” exec produced by Whoopi Goldberg and Tammy Ader (“Party of Five,”). The hospital-based series — which stars Janine Turner — will premiere in July. “Strong Medicine” is produced by Columbia TriStar Television Distribution.
Lifetime has ordered 13 episodes of each of the series.
