Latin markets nab EM.TV kidvid

Strong sales of 'Hoobs' also reported

CANNES — Latin American sales agent Comarex has placed 120 hours per year of German kidvidder EM.TV’s branded Junior programming in Columbia and 260 hours in Venezuela. Deals, which run for two and three years, respectively, mark Junior blocks as one of the standout sales items at this year’s Mipcom.

Comarex was signed up as the Latin America agent for EM.TV’s Junior programming at Mip TV this year.

A further deal will see Junior broadcasts on the webs of the Modern Times Group throughout Scandinavia.

Branded Junior strips are based on a group of 175 characters. The Comarex deals are understood to include episodes of “Heidi” and “Flipper.”

EM.TV also reported strong sales on its new kidvid series “The Hoobs,” a co-production with the U.K.’s Channel 4, which has commissioned 250 episodes.

New EM.TV Junior agents are expected to be announced next week.
