Mipcom Brief

German media giant the Kirch Group unveiled Tuesday details on two of new productions including a new joint venture with Gerard Depardieu, “Julius Caesar.”

Company has yet to decide what format the production will take. But it’s the latest in a long line of joint production ventures between Kirch and the French star following “Les Miserables,” “Balzac,” “The Count of Monte Cristo,” “Napoleon” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”

The second announcement was for a $12-million-budgeted international miniseries “The Crusader,” to be produced with Lux Vide. Project will be directed by Dominique Othenin-Girard.
