NEW YORK — Chi McBride has been cast in “The Faculty,” David E. Kelley’s new ensemble drama from 20th Television for FBC. McBride will play the principal of an inner-city high school in Boston.
McBride is best known for his role as the title character in the notorious UPN comedy “The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer.” Since then, McBride has been busy with film work. He’ll soon be seen in the Nicolas Cage starrer “Gone in 60 Seconds” at Disney and just wrapped the Jon Turteltaub-directed “The Kid” starring Bruce Willis.
McBride is negotiating to star for Dimension Films in “El Camino Love Song,” a comedy about the son of a famed demolition driver who endeavors to follow in his father’s footsteps. He will play the mentor in the Dave Sheridan-scripted comedy that will be directed by John Payson (“Joe’s Apartment”), with Mike Judge and Rick Linklater producing.
McBride is repped by WMA’s Lee Stollman and John Kimble and managed by Sam Maydew of Pop Art Management.
