Writer-executive producer Evan Katz has inked an overall multi-year deal with the Paramount Television Group to develop, create and produce for the Network Television Division.
Katz holds rank as creator and executive producer of the action-adventure series “Special Unit 2,” which recently received a midseason order from UPN. Show began production Tuesday.
“Evan has been a part of the Paramount family for five years now. We are thrilled to continue our relationship and look forward to seeing Evan’s unique blend of comedy and action in future Paramount series,” said Tom Mazza, PTG’s executive veepee of creative affairs.
Katz, whose writing and producing credits include such titles as “McKenna,” “The Commish,” and “My Life and Times,” has been writing and producing for TV and the bigscreen for more than 10 years.
Most recently, he served as executive producer on the Paramount Network Television drama series “Three” for the WB. Prior to that, he served as co-producer of Par’s drama series “JAG.”
