Call “Survivor” the gift that keeps on giving,
While the island adventure’s first season wrapped up three weeks ago, CBS has found another way to take advantage of its summer ratings juggernaut: Make it the lead-out to the season finale of “Big Brother.”
Eye has decided to shift the “Brother” finale to Friday, Sept. 29 — the same night the net is airing a rebroadcast of “Survivor’s” mega-rated final episode. A live hourlong “Brother” will air at 8, with “Survivor” airing from 9-11 p.m. as part of what CBS plans to hype as “Finale Friday.”
Five contestants remain in the “Brother” house after Cassandra was voted off Wednesday night. Two more housemates will be kicked out between now and Sept. 27 under an accelerated nomination/banishment process. The final three house guests will learn their fate on the Sept. 29 finale, which CBS had originally planned to air Sept. 30.
