The Usha Group is planning to launch an entertainment TV channel by next February.
Amit Rai, a promoter of the company, announced this week that a group company under the name Burr Brown (BBL) will undertake the launch of the channel. The total investment in BBL for the new project is $111 million.
The company is looking for strategic partners for the venture. The Usha Group has primarily been an industrial house associated with steel and textiles. This is its first media venture.
