India’s Communists bow web

The Communist Party (CPI), the ruling party in the southern state of Kerala, has launched a Malayalam-language channel. Web has public as well as private shareholders.

Two important actors of Malayalam cinema, Mammootty and Mohanlal, have been appointed chairman and director of the channel, respectively. Purpose of the web, called Kairali, is to encourage pluralism and democracy.
