NEW YORK — VH1 has snared Kate Hudson, the female lead in “Almost Famous,” as a presenter for the VH1/Vogue Fashion Awards, an annual two-hour extravaganza that goes out live this year Oct. 20 from Madison Square Garden.
Other presenters include Uma Thurman, Oscar De La Hoya, Lenny Kravitz, Donatella Versace and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez. As previously reported, the co-hosts of the show are Cuba Gooding Jr. and supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
The fashion awards show is traditionally VH1’s highest-rated cablecast of the year. Nominees in the celebrity-style category include Cameron Diaz, Nicole Kidman, George Clooney, Russell Crowe, Samuel L. Jackson, Janet Jackson and Sting.
Paramount Pictures, sister company to VH1, will be shooting a theatrical movie during the awards. Film is a satire of the fashion industry called “Zoolander,” directed by and starring Ben Stiller. Scott Rudin is one of the producers, and the cast includes Milla Jovovich, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell and Jerry Stiller.
