Private b'caster pays $3.7 mil for Nova, Multimex, most of Radio Express

LONDON — Antenna TV, the Greek private broadcaster that’s listed on New York’s Nasdaq exchange, has made its first move outside Greece, acquiring Bulgarian web Nova TV.

Antenna paid $3.7 million for Nova, transmission company Multimex and a 94% stake in Radio Express, a Bulgarian radio station.

Nova, which launched in 1995, runs second in the ratings to Bulgaria’s state broadcaster.

“Antenna’s investment in Bulgaria is a significant first step in our international expansion into the neighboring Balkan countries,” said managing director Theodore Kyriakou.
