New host Givens couldn't keep show afloat

It’s hard to forgive low ratings. After two seasons and two hosts, Twentieth Television has finally decided to forget syndie gabber “Forgive or Forget,” hosted by Robin Givens.

The show’s staffers have been notified that the talker will cease production today due to low ratings with the remaining new episodes slated to run during May sweeps, sources say. Older episodes are skedded to continue through August.

Studio toppers considered canceling the series earlier this season after ratings went nowhere with original host Mother Love. Instead, Givens was brought in to inject new life into the strip in January. Although execs were pleased with Givens, who earned sharp spikes in key demos with the change, sources say the results were too little, too late. “Forgive or Forget” has hovered around the 2 mark in ratings throughout the season.

A Twentieth spokesman would not comment on the studio’s decision on the gabber.
