Deep Ocean set for Action

Prod'n co. to o'see six TV specials to air on NBC Sports

HOLLYWOOD — Deep Ocean Odyssey, an action-adventure exploration company, has hired Action-Adventure Prods. as its production company.

American-Adventure Prods. will produce a series of six TV specials for Deep Ocean Odyssey, skedded for NBC Sports in 2001, as well as a 10-hour package for international distribution. John Wilcox, American-Adventure prexy and winner of 24 national Emmys for docu programming, will exec produce the specials.

Jean-Michel Cousteau, eldest son of the late Jacques Cousteau, will lead a team to explore the deep ocean.

Three of the specials will be broadcast by NBC in late January and early February 2001, with three more to air in September 2001.

Footage collected will also be used for HDTV programming, Imax movies and Cinesmuse Museum Network programs, as well as for a Web site, DVDs, CD-Roms and other media.
