Mark DeCarlo is ankling as co-host of FX Networks’ talk series “The X Show” to pursue development opportunities with FX and other networks.
“The X Show” will go on with remaining ensemble co-hosts Justin Walker, Craig J. Jackson and John Webber. Series will hold auditions –both off- and on-air — for a new co-host, whom execs plan to tap by the first week in July.
“While I am sorry to be leaving, the activities of my production company, GlugginMarx, require more of my time and attention,” said DeCarlo. “Executive producers Mark Cronin and Gary Auerbach have been kind enough to let me leave the show while it is on a creative high note to tend these projects.”
DeCarlo will continue his relationship with FX through “Jack Cash,” a gameshow pilot he’s creating for the network with his GlugginMarx partner Mark Walberg (former host of USA Network gameshow “The Big Date”).
“The X Show,” which launched last June, hit its 200-episode mark in May.
