Col Int’l TV taps Brit VP

Underscores commitment to local programming

Columbia TriStar Intl. TV has tapped veteran British programming exec Ann Harris for the post of VP, production — part of the company’s European strategy to expand CTIT’s presence in all major markets.

The appointment of Harris, who assumes the post immediately, further underscores the company’s determination to develop and produce local programming for the U.K. audience that can also be commercially viable globally.

Harris will be responsible for developing and producing programming by working closely with the U.K. indie production community. She will report to both CTIT exec VP John McMahon and senior VP Steve Kent.

“We have been working with Ann as a consultant for the past year. Her extensive experience, reputation and knowledge of the production community, combined with the resources of CTIT, will position us as a solid supplier of quality U.K. programming,” McMahon said.

Harris’ 20-year-plus career in television began with the BBC and involved stints at Channel 4, TVS and RCS as well as several years running her own company.
