VP to supervise 'Blitzer,' 'Gant,' 'Jackson'
NEW YORK — Lucy Spiegel has been named VP of CNN.
She’ll oversee CNN’s five weekend public affairs programs: “Late Edition With Wolf Blitzer,” “Capital Gang,” “Evans, Novak, Hunt & Shields,” “Reliable Sources” and “Both Sides With Jesse Jackson.” She will report to CNN exec VP Gail Evans.
Most recently, Spiegel served as a senior executive producer of the weekend public affairs team, helping to develop “Late Edition With Wolf Blitzer.”
Spiegel, who joined CNN in 1995, began as an editorial producer for “Larry King Live,” where she was in charge of guest bookings, breaking news coverage and the production of “Larry King Weekend.” Prior to joining CNN, Spiegel worked at ABC, NBC and CBS. At CBS, Spiegel was the Beirut bureau chief and a producer of “CBS Evening News” and “CBS This Morning.”
