NEW YORK — CNBC senior correspondent Allan Chernoff has ankled the network to join CNNfn as senior correspondent, effective immediately.
Chernoff’s chores at CNNfn will include reporting and business and financial news analysis. He’ll be based in the network’s Gotham headquarters.
“Allan is a highly respected business journalist with great skills — he breaks stories and analyzes them brilliantly,” said CNNfn and CNN Business News prexy Shelby Coffey, III. “His extensive experience in business news will serve as a great asset for CNNfn.”
Chernoff has done television reporting for “NBC Nightly News,” “Weekend Today,” “NBC News at Sunrise,” “Early Today,” MSNBC and WNBC. His print credits include the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times and Newsday.
‘Market Call’ today
In other CNNfn news, “Market Call,” anchored by CNN’s New York Stock Exchange senior correspondent Rhonda Schaffler, bows this morning.
New skein — produced by Kathy Cherpelis and exec produced by CNNfn exec VP Teya Ryan — will cover the opening 90 minutes of trading with business information provided by CNNfn stocks editor Greg Clarkin, NYSE specialist Linda Jay and reporter Jack Cafferty, among others. “Market Call” will also feature regular segments focusing on various finance-related topics.
CNNfn currently provides business news weekdays from 6 a.m. to midnight. The network plans to expand to 24 hours this month.
