Granada Intl. has sold 832 hours of the soaps “Coronation Street” and “Emmerdale” to the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. for an estimated £2.5 million ($3.5 million).
The CBC has carried “Coronation,” the U.K.’s most venerable soap, since 1966, but “Emmerdale” will be new to the Canadian pubcaster. Granada Intl. is the sales division of Granada Media, the biggest of the ITV network companies.
