The California Cable TV Assn. has locked in the theme of the 2000 Western Show: Broadbandwagon.
Annual show, set for the Los Angeles Convention Center from Nov. 28-Dec. 1, has signed up more than 300 companies to exhibit their wares –from cable programming to the latest high-tech gizmos.
Dozens of panel sessions will delve into such broadband issues as convergence of the TV set and computer, the push by cable operators to add telephony to their menu of services and all of the potentials of interactive TV, including e-commerce and online gambling.
Last year’s convention attracted more than 31,000 registrants and 800 members of the press.
