ABC, ‘King’ duo ink for political laffer

Series about young actor, g.f. and his run for Congress

HOLLYWOOD — “King of the Hill” vets Greg Daniels and Richard Appel have locked up a royal deal at ABC, snagging a 13-episode order from the web for a live-action romantic laffer.

Series, targeted for next fall, will be produced by 20th Century Fox TV as part of the studio’s overall deals with Daniels and Appel. Show revolves around a young actor who moves home to the Midwest after flopping in Hollywood; he reunites with a female classmate from high school who persuades him to run for Congress.
