Comic actress Lisa Ann Walter (“The Parent Trap”) has joined the cast of Trilogy Entertainment Group’s pilot “Breaking News” for New Line Television and TNT. The pilot, helmed by Ken Olin, takes a behind-the-scenes look at a news network. Walter is repped by UTA, manager Mel McKeon and attorney Jon Moonves.

Susanna Thompson (ABC’s “Once and Again”), Reed Diamond (NBC’s “Homicide: Life on the Street”) and Maria Conchita Alonso (“Moscow on the Hudson”) will join Tom Skerritt in TBS’ remake of “High Noon” for Rosemont Prods. Lensing began Monday in Calgary, Canada.

Thompson, who takes on the role played by Grace Kelly, is repped by Terri Kelly of Craig Dorfman & Associates and manager Jim Weissenbach. Diamond is repped by Marnie Sparar at Innovative and Dave Fleming at Gold/Miller. Alonso is repped by Doug Warner at DSA.

Lynne Thigpen (“Random Hearts”) has two new projects lined up: first, she’ll join Craig T. Nelson in the CBS pilot “The District” and will then play nurse to Steve Martin’s dentist in Artisan’s “Novocaine,” with Helena Bonham Carter and Laura Dern. Thigpen is repped by Rozanne Gates at Peter Strain and Associates and manager Mel McKeon at Quantum Entertainment.

Nestor Serrano (“Bringing Out the Dead”) is set to join Armand Assante and Benjamin Bratt in Trimark’s “After the Storm.” Serrano is repped by Dina Barone & Co.

Thesp Grant Heslov (“Enemy of the State”), who wrote and directed the award-winning 1998 short “Waiting for Woody,” will helm his first feature “Par 6,” starring Jeffrey Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”) and due to start lensing later this month. Heslov is repped by Paradigm and Rick Ax at Gold Coast Management.

Kathryn Fiore (“Student Affairs”) has joined the ensemble cast of the Touchstone/Beantown Prods. sketch comedy pilot “Out There” for ABC. She’s repped by Tom Harrison of Diverse Talent Group and Mark Borenstein Management.

Twins Alicia and Annie Sorell will join Robin Dunne (“Dawson’s Creek”) in the prequel feature “Cruel Intentions II.” The Columbia TriStar/Newmarket Capital film is being produced by “Cruel Intentions” writer/director Roger Kumble, along with that film’s producer Neil Moritz and co-producer Heather Zeegan. Alicia will be seen this summer in Jerry Bruckheimer’s Touchstone/Buena Vista release “Coyote Ugly.”

Wayne Pere (“Galaxy Quest”) has landed a series regular role in the Warner Bros. pilot “Dead Last.” Pere will next be seen with Tom Selleck and Laura Linney (“The Truman Show”) in TNT’s upcoming telepic “Washington Slept Here.” He’s repped by Weissenbach Management.
