Geraldine Dreyfuss, mother of actor Richard Dreyfuss, died Oct. 19 at her home in Century City of complications from a stroke. She was 79.

A longtime political activist in the anti-nuclear, peace and civil rights movements, she helped organize the Women’s Strike for Peace in the 1960s.

In addition to Richard, she is survived by two other children, six grandchildren and a sister.

Family suggests donations be sent to the Liberty Hill Foundation of Los Angeles.
