Carolyn Cohen

Carolyn Cohen, mother of publicist Ronni Chasen and writer-director Larry Cohen, died Monday following a lengthy battle with emphysema. She was 88.

A native New Yorker, she ran her own real estate business there and resided in Los Angeles for the last 20 years.

In addition to her two children, she is survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 Centinela Ave., Culver City.
