Art Greenfield, who worked in film distribution for several studios including Screen Gems and Desilu, died Aug. 9 in Sherman Oaks of natural causes. He was 82.
Greenfield, who opened the Art Greenfield Co. in 1969 and represented TV shows such as “I Spy,” “Mr. Peepers,” “The Shari Lewis Show” and “This is Your Life,” began his career as a booker at Universal Pictures.
After a 17-year career at Universal in which he served many of the studio’s theatrical distribution divisions, Greenfield became a charter member of the Variety Club before entering TV distribution in 1960 to represent Screen Gems, a subdivision of Columbia Pictures.
He later performed similar duties for Desilu Studios before becoming national sales manager for M&A Alexander in Los Angeles in 1963.
Greenfield, who lived in Los Angeles, is survived by a wife, brother and eight nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Greenfield’s name be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Memorial services will be held 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Adat Ari El, 12020 Burbank Blvd., North Hollywood, Calif.
