Artists Management Group has added the team behind Spike and Mike’s Festival of Animation to the roster of AMG Animation.
Spike Decker and Mike Gribble’s Mellow Manor Prods., best known for creating the long-running “Spike and Mike’s Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation,” joins a client list that includes the creators of “Rugrats,” the producers of “Futurama” and the top creative talent behind “King of the Hill,” “Dilbert” and “Men in Black.”
AMG Animation head Ellen Goldsmith-Vein said that in addition to expanding their work in the animation arena, Decker and Gribble will work with managers in AMG’s TV, music, literary, music and new-media divisions.
“We are thrilled to welcome Spike and Mike into our growing creative family,” said Goldsmith-Vein. “We have added another important franchise to our roster as well as a powerful magnet for the next generation of talent.”
The duo’s animation festivals have provided a traveling roadshow of cutting-edge animation for more than 20 years. Among the artists whose work they first showcased are Tim Burton, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Mike Judge and John Lasseter.
At the recent Cannes Film Festival, the pair presented a collection of their best-known films as well as their latest slate of animated shorts. They also recently signed an exclusive deal with iFilm.com to showcase their fest’s films on the Internet and held a “Best of Spike and Mike” midnight screening at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
