NEW YORK — Veteran Sony Pictures Entertainment finance exec Sean Carey has been promoted to head of the company’s corporate development department, overseeing corporate strategy including transactions and financing at SPE and its business units.
“I am pleased to see Sean accept this new role with greater responsibility,” said Mel Harris, SPE’s co-president and chief operating officer. “With his background in corporate finance we consider Sean to be a key resource for SPE.”
Carey, formerly a VP of corporate development, joined SPE in 1993. He will report to SPE’s chief financial officer Bedi A. Singh. The two will work on a strategic shift to align the company’s corporate development function more closely with its finance organization.
