Spelling exec ventures to world of hi-tech
James Miller has ankled his post as vice president and corporate controller at Spelling Entertainment to become the chief financial officer at Hollywood Software.
Miller, 40, will be in charge of raising venture capital for the company, evaluating proposals for strategic relationships and day-to-day accounting.
“Production, exploitation and distribution of entertainment content are positioned for dramatic change as new digital and Internet technologies unfold,” Miller said. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Hollywood Software team, and to play a part in this technological revolution.”
Man with a plan
Prior to working with Spelling Entertainment, Miller was veep and controller at both Silver King Broadcaster and Savoy Pictures.
“With Jim’s help, we will continue to play an increasingly significant role in the entertainment industry’s transformation into the digital era,” said CEO David Gajda. “His expertise will guide us in strategizing our upcoming domestic and international product launches, and will be invaluable in helping us attract venture capital to finance further product development.”
