BMG lifts Conroy to division topper, tech prez

Kevin Conroy has been upped from senior veep of worldwide marketing and new technology to chief marketing officer and prexy of new technology for BMG Entertainment.

Conroy will continue to oversee all corporate marketing and new-media development for BMG Entertainment operations around the world. Conroy’s responsibilities will stretch from priority artist, partnership, catalog and online marketing to music programming, new technology and digital distribution. He will report to BMG Entertainment prexy/CEO Strauss Zelnick.

“Kevin’s reputation as a marketing visionary is richly deserved,” Zelnick said. “He has developed an innovative and comprehensive approach to marketing BMG’s artists and has been responsible for creating our leadership position on the Internet. Prior to being named senior veep of worldwide marketing and new technology, Conroy spent more than three years as head of marketing at BMG Entertainment North America. Before joining BMG in 1995, Conroy was veep of marketing for CBS/Fox Video.
