Grammy-winner claims No. 1 spot, Sisqo posts largest gain

Santana’s “Supernatural” (Arista) spent its sixth straight week atop the national music charts, moving more than 307,000 units in the week ending March 17, according to sales data released Wednesday.

In a week in which no discs debuted in the top 50 and eight of the top 10 albums merely shuffled positions, Sisqo’s “Unleash the Dragon” (Dragon/Def Soul) posted the biggest gain of the period, increasing sales by more than 14,000 units.

The week’s other significant gains were racked up by the Bloodhound Gang’s “Hooray for Boobies” (Republic/Geffen), up nearly 10,000 copies; and 3 Doors Down’s “Better Life” (Republic/Universal), up nearly 7,000 copies.

Universal Music Group took home the lion’s share of the current album market with 27.3%; followed by BMG, 18.6%; Sony, 16.7%; Warner, 13.8%; and EMI, 7%.
