Ron Spaulding has been named senior veep of sales for the Elektra Entertainment Group. Previously veep of sales for Priority Records, Spaulding will report to Elektra exec veep/G.M. Greg Thompson.
“Ron’s keen knowledge of the street as well as the excellent account relationships he’s maintained through the years will be an invaluable asset to Elektra,” Thompson said. “His tremendous leadership abilities, coupled with his acute understanding of how the music business is evolving, will complement an already stellar sales staff.”

Spaulding came to Priority in 1991, rising to national sales manager for the diskery in ’94 and becoming veep of sales in ’98. He began his record industry career as a buyer for Shopko Stores in 1989.
