Island Def Jam Music Group co-prexy John Reid has ankled the diskery. Reid joined Island in the wake of its purchase as part of Seagram’s $10.4 billion Polygram deal in 1998. He was previously chair of Polygram Music in Canada.
In a prepared statement, Island Def Jam chair Jim Caparro said, “Throughout his time with us, John has helped to create a thriving, cutting-edge music company. He has been a tremendous contributor to our success, and we certainly respect his drive to seek out new challenges. We wish him the very best in all of his future endeavors.”
