NEW YORK — Details magazine will rise from the dead Sept. 26, shipping its new first issue to newsstands since Conde Nast shuttered the editorial offices last March.
Under new management –Fairchild Publications CEO, editorial director Patrick McCarthy and new editor Daniel Peres — Details will be a general interest men’s magazine, not a fashion magazine as some had speculated. Peres was previously European editor of W.
Details will also feature expanded coverage of Hollywood. Peres’ first cover story is on Robert Downey Jr. — the actor’s first out-of-prison interview.
Details is relaunching with a circulation of 400,000, and there are 133 ad pages in the first issue, making it the second largest launch of the year after O: The Oprah Magazine.
Fairchild and Conde Nast are both units of Advance Publications.
