Move reflects Home Ent's split from WB
In a restructuring that reflects MGM Home Entertainment’s separation from Warner Home Video as its distribution partner earlier this year, MGM has promoted marketing executive Robert Wittenberg and sales executive Blake Thomas.Wittenberg, who as senior VP and general manager has overseen the studio’s return to self-distribution, has been named executive VP, sales. The executive who joined MGM in 1994 after a nine-year stint on the wholesale distribution side with Video Products Distributors will oversee all facets of sales for MGM in the Western hemisphere. Thomas, who also joined MGM in 1994, has been named executive VP, worldwide marketing. Also promoted is Cordelia Tappin to senior VP, domestic marketing. Tappin, who joined MGM in 1995 after five years at Fox Video, is responsible for the creation of all domestic rental and sell-through video marketing campaigns. “The individual talents of Robert, Blake and Corie have contributed greatly to the growth and enduring strength of our product in the marketplace, and their leadership will be critical as we continue to maximize the value of our 4,100-title library… ,” said MGM Home Entertainment president David Bishop.
