NEW YORK — Anne Heche, whose private life has been the fodder for countless gossip columns and latenight gags, has sold her memoirs to Scribner.
Heche has plenty to talk about. Her much-discussed romance with Ellen DeGeneres is only the latest development in a life that included considerable family tragedy.
Her father, a choir director in a Baptist church, succumbed to AIDS, and her brother was killed in a car accident.
Heche’s proposal was shopped to a group of publishers, but Scribner pre-empted the sale, with paperback and audio rights going to affiliate imprints Pocket and Simon & Schuster audio, respectively.
Heche was repped by Joni Evans at William Morris. She is also a client of WMA’s Steve Dontanville.
