Exec joined in '98 to o'see worldwide sales
Pearson Television has promoted Joseph Abrams to the post of president, Pearson TV Intl., effective immediately. He will remain based at Pearson’s London headquarters.
Abrams joined Pearson TV Intl. in June 1998 as exec VP with primary responsibilities for the worldwide sales organization.
Having worked in both feature and TV distribution and production, Abrams started his career with CBS in New York in 1978, where he held various sales, creative and financial positions. He moved to Los Angeles in 1985, where he held several successive management positions with Columbia Pictures, MGM and ABC.
Before joining Pearson, Abrams established his own production company, which is developing motion picture and TV rights to various works of Noel Coward and Agatha Christie.

Pearson TV is the content and rights division of the RTL Group, the European conglom formed by the recent merger with CLT/Ufa. Its slate includes telepics “Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis” and “The Mayor of Casterbridge.”
