Memorial service for Fryer

Produced 'Wonderful Town,' 'Sweet Charity'

Theater and film producer Robert Fryer will be honored at a memorial service at the Broadhurst Theater Nov. 9 at noon. Speakers will include Michael Blakemore, Cy Coleman, Betty Comden, Adolph Green, Ernest Thompson, Rod McKuen, Joseph Hardy and Harold Prince.

On Broadway, Fryer produced the original productions of “Wonderful Town,” “Sweet Charity,” “Mame,” “Sweeney Todd” and “Noises Off,” among others. His film credits include “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,” “Travels With My Aunt” and “The Shining.”
