IATSE to rep stagehands

Amphitheater workers vote 29-0 to organize

The Intl. Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and its Boston-based Local 11 have organized stagehands at the Fleet Boston Pavilion.

The final vote for representation was 29-0. The unit will rep all stagehands employed at the 5,000-seat amphitheater.

The facility, which primarily features rock ‘n’ roll shows, is operated by DLC Corp., which is owned by SFX Entertainment.

Organizing efforts were headed by Local 11 president Bob Volosevich and business manager James Flanders, with assistance from international rep Ronnie Lynch.

IATSE also announced employees at Los Angeles-based MVF Worldwide Services Inc. have ratified a contract covering 67 employees including tape and quality control operators, editors and shipping and vault clerks. Local 700 organized MVF in March 1999.
