In what will be his live-action feature debut, Ralph Zondag (“Dinosaur”) has signed on to direct “Raised by Ghosts” from an original script by Craig Mitchell and Richard Stern, rewritten by Brandon Camp and Mike Thompson (“Steinbeck’s Point of View”).
Project will be produced by Chuck Gordon and exec produced by Marc Sternberg, prexy of Gordon’s indie shingle, Daybreak Prods. Pic will be distributed by MGM.
The Lion is fast-tracking “Raised,” hoping to begin lensing by year’s end.
“I am thrilled to have Ralph directing the movie,” Gordon said. “I think his sensibility is perfect for it.”
Story centers on an orphan teenager, raised by a group of ghosts, who is brought to live with a dysfunctional suburban family and learns a thing or two about what it means to be human.
Prior to helming Disney’s “Dinosaur,” Zondag worked as an in-house animator at the Mouse House.
Camp and Thompson are repped by Broder, Kurland, Webb and Uffner and attorney Karl Austen at Armstrong, Hirsch, Jackoway, Tyerman and Wertheimer.
Zondag is also repped by BKWU and attorney Peter Nichols at Lichter, Grossman, Nichols and Adler.
