The Los Angeles org Women in Film will fete scribe Lisa Krueger and producer Stacey Sher at the Independent Vision Awards, to be held this year at Sundance.
Established to honor women who have transformed or made significant strides in independent film, the inaugural Vision Awards will be held Jan. Saturday at Park City’s Stein Eriksen Lodge.
Sundance marks the world premiere of writer-director Krueger’s latest film, “Committed,” slated to bow nationally in April. She made her directorial debut with the award-winning short feature “Best Offer,” which premiered at Sundance in 1993. In 1994, Krueger was honored by Robert Redford’s Sundance Institute when her first feature, “Manny & Lo,” was selected for the Filmmaker and Writers Lab.
Jersey Films producer Stacey Sher was the executive force behind “Reality Bites” and “Pulp Fiction.” Sher began her film career in 1985, serving as director of development at Hill/Obst Prods. She received her first associate producer credits for “Heartbreak Hotel” and “The Fisher King.” Sher’s next pic, the Julia Roberts starrer “Erin Brockovich,” will be released in March.
The Independent Vision Awards are co-hosted by the Women in Film Foundation, Women in Film and Television Intl.
