Robin Williams is taking a small role in Warner Bros. Pictures’ “A.I.” at the request of his “Hook” director, Steven Spielberg.
The actor will serve as the film’s narrator. “He’s playing A,” joked manager David Steinberg of MBST Entertainment, who co-manages Williams with AMG’s Mike Menchel,
Contrary to a published report, Williams has made no commitment to play Liberace in a biopic being developed by Cary Woods’ Independent Pictures with director Philip Kaufman. In fact, the process has not progressed since Williams was offered the role (Daily Variety, July 26) in the Jason Friedberg-Aaron Seltzer-scripted pic.
“Robin is not developing it, he’s not involved in the development of it,” said Steinberg. “He was offered it and might end up doing it, but he might also play in the NBA. It’s quite simply not the case to say he’s starring in the film.”
